"Aging can be really complicated"

In her mid-thirties, Gabrielle Requena was increasingly conflicted about aging, its visible effects on her skin, and what, if anything, she would do about it.

"Aging is really complicated," she admits. "I feel like we're made to feel guilty for wanting to do something about our skin, but also for doing nothing! Most of the time, I accept that these changes are a natural part of aging and I'm fine with it. But there are also days, when I'm tired, traveling, or at an important event, professional or personal, where I'm less comfortable with my crow's feet, my forehead wrinkles, or the creases on my chest that I wake up with from sleeping on my side."
